I have played the bagpipes for 41 years (I started when I was 14 in 1984.) Over time, my interests have veered from the competitive side of things to the study and performance of traditional music. I currently have an active interest in Piobaireachd (Ancient Scottish bagpipe music) and Scottish traditional music. Visit my Smallpipes page for more examples.
I’ve worn many hats over the years from being a competitive bagpiper, teacher, to solo performer. I’ve played with pipe bands such as G2 House of Scotland, G2 Portland Metro and G2 Cameron Highlanders and won numerous prizes for solo and band competitions including overall amateur solo Piobaireachd winner, WUSPBA and BCPBA Grade 2 band championships, and the Campbell J. Naismith trophy.
I’ve taught many folks over the years and currently am teaching a few students smallpipes and highland pipes.
For anyone interested in geeking out - I play Keith Jeffers bagpipes, an American bagpipe maker. For more information about Keith and other links please visit here.
